Darkwards Drifter is a fully voiced audio series set in the Emergence 2028 universe.
Set in the fractured outskirts of Los Angeles, it follows Sid Severin, a scavie working the Dregsprawl and staying ahead of debt, violence, and the pull of the quarantined zones known as the Darkwards.
These sealed districts have taken entire scav crews and reporter teams off the grid. What still moves behind their concrete walls isn’t tracked and doesn’t surface clean.
New episodes, original pixelpunk artwork, and expanding world lore are released regularly, building toward the upcoming Emergence 2028 feature film.
Start the Story
The gritty outer districts of Los Angeles. Haze drifting through narrow alleys, scav crews moving between cheap food stalls, gang territories marked by fading signs, and the sound of retro-tech holding on by luck. Survival here is a day-to-day argument with fate.
Five immense quarantined zones sealed behind towering concrete walls. Reports of movement and shaped shadows have circulated for years. Whatever still operates inside these zones isn’t fully understood.
Reclav
Sid’s reclamation vehicle. A home, a lifeline, and sometimes a fortress on wheels. It carries him across the fractured districts and keeps him alive when nothing else does, provided the hydraulics do not fail first.
